"so much more is expected" of Democrats. Yes - double standards.

4. I think because

most politicians have one or two scandals at a time, which makes them easy for the media to relentlessly focus on until they either get a pound of flesh, or until something else comes along to distract them.

Trump understood the last part well, so his strategy was essentially to commit so many atrocities that it was impossible for the media to focus on one for long before the next one came along. It definitely worked to cripple the media's focus on his scandals, although obviously it didn't work on the voting public, who threw him out on his ass for being the worst president of all time.

I wish someone would do a documentary on all the sex scandals Trump had. Give it the proper treatment it deserves and put it out there in the public.

That’s why it got the attention it did.

There are more than 20 other sex scandals with Trump and some involve underage girls.

8. Might have just increased his popularity with his base

He ran a racist, misogynist, homophobic campaign and his base loved it

They embraced all his crimes and inappropriate behaviors as proof of his political "outsider" position

9. The media were all afraid of being denied access

I admit, it’s a sorry excuse, they should have been hammering on him from Day 1. The Q Party love this behavior when it’s one of their own, and feign outrage when a Democrat is accused of it. The Democrats have morals, the Qs don’t

11. Simple

The media had no intent of running Trump out of office, and in fact, wanted him there the entire time and re-elected in 2020. The media gave you just enough "Trump outrage" to get you to tune in every day, but they were not willing to take any issue "all the way" and make it end his Presidency.

Example: Remember when Keith Olberman opened every show with a statement that it was "Day X" since GWB declared "Mission Accomplished"? What if Nicole Wallace had opened every show every day with a count-statement that it " is day "X" since the POTUS was implicated in a felony in an open Congressional hearing"? And then others took her lead...? If millions of Americans would have heard every single day that "the POTUS was implicated in a felony", it would have become untenable for Trump to remain in office. They could have done that with Helsinki, the border policy, Covid, etc.... But they didn't. Why? The media is corporate, not left/right, and are in favor of Trump/Republican tax policy. Its.That.Simple.

14. Twitter

Trump played the media like a fiddle with Twitter daily. Each time a new sex scandal happened, he effectively distracted with some ridiculous and controversial Tweet. For 5 years the media fell for it every single time.

the gaslighter in chief also an idiot and a dangerous, petty, vain, weak minded fool.

The networks never really cared about all the damage he did, they just thought it was great to have a bozo taking up all the air time for them.
