''We are officially in WTF territory on the Senate floor.''

We are officially in WTF territory on the Senate floor. The vote-a-rama has been stalled out for more than three hours. Dems don't yet have 50 for their most important amendment and Rs are trying to bring Manchin on board to Portman's unemployment trims.

What Manchin isn't tracking is that, in less than two years, his status as asshole in chief will disappear when Dems gain more Senate seats. Then his iconoclasm act will be irrelevant. Right now, no one cares about him except that he's holding up progress, and they dislike him for that. After 2022, he can be the Republican he's always wanted to be, and no one will give a shit.

as it is. He barely won in 2018 with that giant Blue Wave at his back, plus if Justice runs, he has already outflanked Manchin to a degree on the left, and for sure on the right. We are being held hostage and being twisted into pretzels all over a potential seat retention 4 years down the road, whilst the present is getting shit on over his blocking key Biden initiatives. It quite likely hurts us in 2022 and for what? I do not see how Manchin voting against his own voter's interests helps him win re-election.

what we really need is a little help from Romney, Collins, Murkowski, etc.

It'd be so nice to see the little weasel return to the irrelevant fly-speck that he's always been.

... justification for the 1/6 terrorist attack as a force for good.

I don't, I think if they got back into control of congress the nation as a whole is screwed.

The kGQP is LITERALLY justifying the lies told that was the basis of a terrorist attack on the nations capital.

You can't depend on him to do the right thing, what else can be done? He's just going to play us, I don't care if he's from a red state and barely scraped in, you either stand for decency or not, and if not, there's the door. It was nice to think we have a Senate majority, but that obviously is not the case as long as Manchin straddles the fence and plays us like this. Are Democratic voting WV constituents really happy with this behavior? Just who does he represent? What an asshole.
