It's sustainably caught and the best I know of.

A little more expensive. You can find it by Googling. (This is not an advertisement, just a recommendation).

If I'm recalling correctly, the way I found out was because there was a website mentioned on the Costco cans regarding the fact that the tuna was dolphin safe... and it was actually a Bumble Bee Tuna website.

He uses everything that you use, except the jerk seasoning, he uses mustard instead.

One time I was making tuna salad and made the mistake of asking him whether he wanted any, after opening the can, but before making the salad. He started telling me what to put in it, the onions were ok, but after that things went haywire. Suffice to say, I didn’t eat any of the salad, I simply found a lid and gave him the whole mess.

I used to do sound recording when i was in high school for our arts festivals and plays, performances, etc., and someone bought us a box of 12, 7" reel to reel Tuck recording tape. When we rewound the tape it stretched in such a way that we actually had a cloverleaf pattern on the takeup reel. We sent a reel back to the company to get the money for the tape ( the donor had given us the receipt just in case we couldn't use it or didn't want to) and the company sent coupons for more of this shitty tape. We all burst out laughing.

It’s definitely better than the Starkist or Bumblebee and a decent price. Nice, solid chunks, not the squishy stuff. They have a 4-pack deal.

Fukushima Dai’ichi.

They actually use the radioactive cesium concentrations in the fish to determine their migration patterns in the Pacific.

Must be the radioactive cesium and strontium altering the taste.

The tuna that's packed in pouches is much drier.

I stopped eating the canned stuff years ago. It's always been too wet for me, and I don't think it's as tasty either.

I stopped eating Tuna a few years back, because even the chunk white, which was once premium, was garbage. It is like a fish was caught, skinned and gutted, then put through a grinder to turn meat and bone into something that was then canned.

and recently (the past few months)it's been horrible. We buy Bumblebee solid white tuna and lately it smells like cat food. Our go-to meal if we don't have anything planned used to be tuna salad sandwiches - we ended up throwing out the last batch because it was so vile.

I don't know why, but when I saw this thread it made me think about a co-worker. She put up a sign in the lunch room asking folks not to open canned tuna because she couldn't stomach the smell. I think my fellow co-workers would bring canned tuna to work just to get under her skin.

When I make tuna salad, I usually mix one can of light tuna with one can of albacore before I add my celery, celery seed, purple onion, minced bread and butter pickles and a touch of dijon. I find all albacore is a little too dry. I do like Wild Planet.

My favorite tuna is Wild Planet's Albacore tuna fillets in a jar with olive oil. A little pricey at six dollars a pop, but I only buy it when I am making spaghetti. I like to add it to the sauce as it reminds me of when I was in Sicily and I first had pasta with fish.

I quit buying tuna a long time ago, using canned chicken instead.

Commercial hunting was banned a long time ago, you can't by passenger pigeons any more because they were hunted to extinction. Commercial fishing is similar to commercial hunting. It is not good for the ocean wilderness.

These days I'm mostly vegetarian.

As am I. Many of us have had our quality decline in the pandemic year.

Things are turning around, slowly. We will improve.

The tuna? Dunno, I don't remember canned tuna ever being all that great. It was just something to mix with other things.

Bon Apetit!

I have some cans of magical sardines, in oil. When I open a can, like magic, my cat appears from wherever she was napping. It's magic.
