All of the insurrectionists should be released from jail...?

...unless Donald Trump is in there with them?

After all, he was the leader of the attempted coup.

They would never have been in Washington, in the first place, if they had not been invited by Donald Trump. He was responsible for inciting them to violence. He was responsible for the march on the Capitol and the murder of a Capitol policeman. None of it would have happened if not for Donald Trump.

While he plays golf everyday, the rest of them are rotting in jail.

It's not that they do not deserve to be in jail, it's that they deserve to have company.

There will be no justice until he is behind bars.

I would prefer that they not leave jail until they're transferred to prison. We'll deal with abqtommy Mar 2021 #3

"He told me to" isn't a legitimate defense.

1) Someone organizes a bank robbery, but isn't involved in the actual crime
2) A team tries to rob a bank and is caught.
3) The leader isn't captured.

Should the team face charges? Or should we just let them go?

This is one of the sillier arguments I can recall, even as satire or sarcasm. Trump's involvement is irrelevant where the individual charges are concerned.

If he never goes to jail, they never get out, sounds like an even trade for someone who trusted the guy with their freedom.
