a Democratic Senator says $10 is all that is needed, toss in the the filibuster and a living wage is dead.

(9,999 posts)2. I agree that this is a disgrace and "they" have gotten away with
these paltry wages for too long. Cheap labor boosts their bottom line so that the CEO's can walk away with huge bonuses (that they do not need) and the stockholders can sit back and collect their dividends. I am totally OK with corporations earning healthy profits but we have moved beyond healthy into obscene profits. And those profits come at the expense of the very people doing the heavy lifting.
