Senator Kyrsten Sinema slammed after spokesperson says it's sexist to discuss her 'thumbs down' vote

Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) on Friday offered up a dramatic "thumbs down" vote on increasing the minimum wage to $15, which NCRM and other news outlets reported. While she was one of eight Democrats to vote against the legislation, she was the only one to mimic the late Republican Senator John McCain, also of Arizona, who famously stopped Republicans from killing ObamaCare.

Sinema was also the only one to bring cake to the Senate floor, giving her critics ample ammunition to compare her to Marie Antoinette. But now Senator Sinema is fighting back.

According to HuffPost, Sinema's spokesperson says it's sexist to discuss her thumbs down act.

"Sinema's office responded to a question about the gesture by making the absurd claim that the inquiry is sexist," the news outlet's Sara Boboltz reports. "'Commentary about a female senator's body language, clothing, or physical demeanor does not belong in a serious media outlet,' Hannah Hurley, a spokesperson for Sinema, told HuffPost."

4. As an Arizonan who voted for her, I sent her a harsh e-mail this morning.

I told her that she has changed from the person I voted for and that she is asking for a
primary opponent. I told her to work with the Democrats and not the Republicans. And much more.

Sexism has nothing to do with it. Americans are massively suffering and in her best judgment it was time for a Hollywood moment? (Theoretically, she's not a Republican.) Apparently, someone needs to explain context to her staff if they got their backs up over purported sexism. Sinema and the other Democrats who voted against a $15 minimum wage, which in reality, still isn't enough to live on, have lost their moral compasses. Every last one of them needs to be primaried. Kowtowing to business owners and corporations who have become accustomed to paying poverty level wages to enrich themselves is reprehensible. To paraphrase FDR, if businesses can't afford to pay a living wage, they don't deserve to exist.

then she shouldn't act like she wandered onto the Hunger Games set while casting votes. She is one of three women who voted the way she did as Democrats and the other two aren't getting this static because they behaved as dignified representatives of their states.

...Maybe if Sen. Sinema was in favor of a minimum wage, but disagreed with putting it through using reconciliation. OK, I disagree with that, but I can respect such an opinion.

But that thumbs-down - she was showing a really snotty attitude there. Not a good look.
