it is because you judge us. I have been preached at by several vegans. Leave me alone and I will leave you alone.

"I have been preached at by several vegans"

Seems to indicate that you judge us and that you're maybe unaware that we get preached at also? Even the most innocuous mention of the word brings out accusations of sanctimony, zealotry, aggression and "I won't judge your choices if you don't judge mine!" Well, I'm not, and yet, here we are.

There are evangelical and jerks at both ends of the spectrum, Governor Pete Ricketts being one of them. Vegan-bashing is actually a thing on DU.

... find ways to mention it in 100% of their conversations. Why is it important to continually remind everyone (even in NON-FOOD settings) I don't judge the diet... just the sanctimony. I don't go around lecturing them, why should anyone feel entitled to lecture me? I don't need to be "saved" or "converted" ... but I've encountered some that were as aggressive as door-to-door JW's.

This young lady, on the other hand, will never need to remind people she's a vegan.

8. Eating meat is a choice. It should always be on every menu

A meatless option should also be on the menu. Taking either off any menu is up unacceptable!

"Taking either off any menu is up unacceptable!"

Unless of course, we missed some middle-of-the-night legislation designed to deprive you of this choice that you yourself are privy to.

I’m guessing there are chicken farmers in Nebraska. I hope they have a vocal lobby.

There are also fish farms.

And vegetable farms.

I would think a balanced political diet makes more sense.

I seriously don’t even know where to go from here, he literally created a holiday that is celebrated every day at McDonalds. Does he think this decree is going to sway someone on a plant based diet? If so, he is dumber than he looks, and who are the morons that voted for him?
