When he got the first one, he was down and out for about 36 hours. He said he felt just as bad as he did when he actually had Covid. They warned him that this 2nd jab could be as bad. Fortunately, he said he's achy and tired but he definitely does not feel quite as bad as what he's already gone through. Twice. Poor guy. At least he's through the worse, and hopefully will never have to go through it, ever again.
12 more days until my 2nd Pfizer jab.

(26,257 posts)Maybe because he was never 'officially' diagnosed. He was sick last March, when all of this was just starting to happen, ERs and intensive care units were starting to fill up and they were telling people to stay home, if possible. His symptoms were text book Covid.
I keep wondering if I possibly had it and was asymptomatic. He was at my house several times when he would have been highly contagious, but since it was early in the pandemic, not that much was known. I had a mild cold, at that time, so maybe my basic coronavirus antibodies were already building up. At least that's one theory I've heard. Or, was I asymptomatic. Or very lucky.
All I do know is that I had zero reaction to the Pfizer vaccine. So far, anyway.

(6,078 posts)but not bad. The nurse did warn me the second one would probably make me feel crappy though. I'll get that one during spring break so if it does make me sick, I'll already be home.

(36,745 posts)I did ache more after the first, left arm was sorer than right which got the first dose, but I am more tired after the second.
I think I had the strong immune reaction after the first.

(53,764 posts)The second shot just felt like a shot going in, but no later reactions either.
It seems more people are having reactions with Moderna than Pfizer.

(13,488 posts)More people I know getting moderna have side effects. (But I also know more people getting moderna.)
Moderna shot (late Jan) was followed only by a sore arm for about six days. Second shot (Late Feb) had me feeling fatigued and queasy for about 12 hours with some minor arm discomfort lasting about 4 days.
