Americas oldest collegiate debate society has voted to strip Sen. Ted Cruz of its highest honor, according to The Daily Princetonian.
Princeton Universitys American Whig-Cliosphic Society passed a motion to rescind the James Madison Award for Distinguish Public Service awarded to Cruz in 2016, the newspaper reported.
Members of the society proposed the motion because unhappy at Cruzs support of baseless voter fraud claims in the 2020 election and the January 6 Capitol attack.
The award introduced in 1960 is bestowed upon individuals who have taken up the arduous but righteous cause of dedicating their life to the betterment of society, according to the societys website.
This is the first time in the societys history that members have voted to rescind this award, The Daily Princetonian said.

(4,607 posts)This is, objectively, the very antithesis of Ted Cruz, and has been since he began his career on the national stage.

(17,901 posts)Better question...why would anyone even consider giving Cruz an award for anything, much less public service? He was known as a real creep in his Princeton days.

(8,030 posts)crapload of ammunition against these horrific low-life's during the upcoming 2022 and 2024 elections! These Republicans voted against their helping their constituents with the COVID Relief bill/American Rescue Plan. This messaging on this point must be perfect. If they can understand how they've been voting against their own interests by electing their representatives who vote against helping their own people maybe we can start winning elections by large margins.
Ted Cruz being stripped of this honor needs to be one more thing to have in the arsenal for anyone who runs against him.
