did trump explicitly tell his supporters to do any of that??

He, in his mob boss style of speaking, certainly egged the mob on to march on the capitol but did he explicitly "instruct" them to commit the illegal acts of which many of them are accused?

At least I expect his legal team will take that approach...

if it can be shown that trump himself made such calls. Otherwise, he'll just claim the calls were made without his approval or knowledge.

... and I have no doubts that he was speaking on behalf of Chump (his client).
There must be plenty more out there.

I'd call this a tort, although there might be a more precise legal term for it. If that's true, it would just take a "preponderance of evidence" to find against Il Douche. Someone adjudicating this case would just have to think "Yes, he's probably guilty," and not "X is a reasonable doubt here."

Much lower threshold to reach.

I've testified in a half-dozen civil suits as an expert witness. Three each for plaintiff & defense.
It was made abundantly clear to me during discovery, depositions & trial prep that the standard is nothing like a criminal trial.
A couple times I was in the courtroom when the judge made sure the jury knew that very well.
Then I found this:

When 12 jurors deliberate in a civil trial, 10 jurors are needed to return a verdict. In a criminal case the verdict must be unanimous.

Although I'm fairly sure that here in Illinois a civil jury can be as little as 6 people. Not sure about federal, but I have a recollection that in a couple of those lawsuits in fed court, there were fewer than 12. But, I might be remembering that wrong.
