down into pellets that can then be used in building material. I have no doubt the adults who do the melting down wear masks.

There children are breathing that poison in - literally and figuratively.

Walton's Mountain were burning a bunch of books because they were German (it was in reaction to Nazis burning books) and some tried to stop it by getting a woman of German heritage to read one of the books and translate it and she started with "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep...." so they stopped burning German books because they were christians? Any way we can wake up the mask burners? It is soooo weird and scary. Someone needs to somehow show these people these are vulnerable human children, not objects for the rich to use so to get away with paying no taxes.

Later at a community bonfire the Reverend makes a speech and makes a proposal to hold a symbolic book burning to protest those being held in Germany. Buck Vernon joins him with a bagful of German books he has collected and begins to throw them into the fire. John-Boy jumps up and challenges the men and the community to not allow ignorance to govern their actions. He felt it was his duty to inform them of the actions of a tyrant just like he would if a blight threatening their crops or a scandel threatening their government. After his plea he looks down at the books on the ground. He is shocked to see one book in particular and asks if their is anyone in the crowd that can speak German. Mrs. Brimmer rises from the protective anonymity of her seat and approaches John-Boy. He asks her to read the first paragraph which she does in German. Then he asks her to read the next bit in English and the crowd is agast that it is the Bible printed in German. John-Boy hands the book to the Reverend. The Reverend apologizes and hands the Bible and Mein Kampf into John-Boy's trusted hands. He then asks the community to join him in a hymn. Erin approaches John-Boy and apologizes for her harsh words.

9. It's name is fake

The name Idaho can be traced back to a man named George Willing, a white man and not a Native American. The Philadelphia-born doctor had fraudulently won an election as a delegate from the territory that later became Colorado, but the results were never certified and he never officially took office.

Nevertheless, Willing planted a seed that his territory should be named Idaho – an idea that found its way to the U.S. Senate in 1860. But Jacox says shortly before the name was to be ratified, lawmakers discovered it was a fraud.

“At the very last minute, Idaho was pulled from that bill and it became Colorado Territory instead,” Jacox says.

Yet, the name Idaho persisted. The Idaho Territory broke off from the Washington Territory just a few years later, with elected officials who embraced the name forgetting the word wasn’t a Native American term – or that it had any meaning at all.

Wonderful people. Beautiful state.

Politically, the state produced the late Sen. Frank Church.

Modern Idaho politics, no.
