"SNIP.....

New York Times: “Ms. Rice occupies the West Wing office that was previously inhabited by Stephen Miller, President Donald J. Trump’s top policy adviser. Aware of the symbolism of a Black woman who has been vilified by conservatives occupying the space where Mr. Trump’s most hard-line immigration adviser used to dictate policy, Ms. Rice has decorated it with Haitian art and scented it with sage.

“From there, she now convenes regular Zoom meetings about topics central to Mr. Biden’s agenda — she hinted at actions to come on voting rights, community violence and gun safety — and she has reorganized the way the council works. Instead of having a principal deputy serving under the director, she has appointed four senior deputies who are experts in their fields.”

to be more like the National Security Council she was in charge of under Obama.

The two are to become aligned and working together, NSC focusing out, the DPC focusing in with strong emphasis on economic and national security issues. Right now handling the pandemic and economic recovery are the big priorities, but also big domestic "healthcare, immigration, racial equality and justice issues."

not foreign ones. Brilliant move. The Trumpers and GOP are at war with democracy. Democracy needs to fight back with great policy.

and proved how delicate democracy could be in the wrong hands. And 'wrong hands' everywhere were emboldened. For sure there would still be climate change crisises if Hillary had won, but so much of the bad behaviour is because NATO seemed like such a myth all of a sudden. Biden has to fight to regain the upper hand abroad and at home. He has thousands of state department and intelligence employees and experts to do that abroad. He has Rice and another team to fight at home. And it will be a new order based on the most brilliant ideas from everywhere. The Democrat's message discipline has been sublime so far. I hope this is a sign of how the Democrats will be in every arena in these next 4 years.

six ways from Sunday, though.

Agree so much. We can't undo, but many nations want and desperately need the U.S. to help rebuild stability and get to fighting climate change, the one problem that inflates, creates, and overwhelms all others. Of course they're naturally worried about what happens in 2024...

"And it will be a new order based on the most brilliant ideas from everywhere." We can at least be sure of that for now. Forward to the future.

spirits, evil or otherwise, do not respond to physical actions or presences. They only respond to the spiritual aspect of an environment and then only on the spiritual level. Thus if the spirituality of persons in any habitat are elevated by, perhaps, scents in the air they breathe, then those scents may be accreditable. By the same token, neither are mental acuity and transcendentality or integrity and commitment common sides of a coin.

It's a small thing perhaps but what is the point of misunderstanding one's environmental management.

What creepiness would it be to sit in a chair he used and to put your hands on his desk. Sage indeed! How long to rid the space of his festering evil presence.
