March 8th marks the 365th day that my husband and I have been in self-quarantine!

A whole year!

But we've remained safe and healthy throughout, we go on short drives - either for a change of scenery or drive-thru eats, and we Zoom and do FaceTime! (And now that the snow and ice storms are over, it's time to start gardening again... )

So looks like we have purple ones and pale violet “striped” so far. Looks like a lot of the daffodils and narcissus and hyacinths are coming up, too.

Some stuff, like the blue balloon flowers (my FAVORITES!) and the crocosmia (“Lucifers”) will come up later - summer I think. Planted some heathers and dianthus too, where the marigolds were last year. But I like perennials better than annuals. Plant ‘em and leave ‘em, and they rise ‘n’ fall - and then come back again next year and rise ‘n’ fall yet again.

I love it when the blue balloon flowers start coming up. They break through the dirt looking like little crabs - until they “unfold” and start reaching upward! LOVE those little guys! And they don’t grow too high so you can plant something taller behind them.

I've been out into civilization 3 times since then, but she hasn't. She's trying to get a slot for each of us to be vaccinated.
