The British tabloid are attacking Meghan like crazy. For some reason they are not headlining anything about Harry.

Meghan is the problem. Harry is apparently still a Prince.

letting the British tabloids and internet trolls demonize the Duchess. The genie can not be put back in the bottle.

I'm so glad the couple got the hell out.

Except for their elaborately orchestrated life and surroundings, they are a completely unremarkable lot. It’s really rather perplexing how it continues on, except that it has spawned a huge tourist industry.

An English friend who is not at all a fan of the royal family still considers the fact that they are (as you say) "a completely unremarkable lot" is a virtue in the figurehead business, because in his view the alternative we have results in an unhealthy mix of politics with ceremonial roles. So if you have a king or queen who is nobody special but knows how to smile and wave and can cut ribbons at the opening, you can have events where folks by and large just share in whatever national pride their symbolic presence offers, while with a first lady/gentleman (someday soon, right?) emotions will be more tied up with the political agenda of the spouse, detracting from the unifying symbolic value.

(It's a funny thing to hear because he rips the royals constantly; he just thinks having politicians and their spouses play ceremonial roles is functionally worse.)

Just imagine if an egomaniac like Trump was King of England. He just thought he was King here and it was a disaster.

I think there will be big changes once Elizabeth is no longer queen. She is still connected to WWII, which was quite a remarkable period of the Brits, in the way that the entire country suffered and sacrificed together. Once that connection is lost, I don't see the support for the cost of the monarch surviving.

to continue this public feud with their royal relatives. If either or both have psychological damage they should seek (or continue to get) professional help to move on with their lives. Here in America, they can fade into the background and be Harry and Meghan, your nice next door neighbors raising a couple of kids.

If they wanted to be an inconspicuous American family, going on Oprah wasn’t the place to start. Some people are just addicted to attention and in some cases, the drama. Don’t we all know people like that?

don’t see the need for the big interview. I’m sure they were paid well for it, so I suppose that’s one reason. When they originally left I think they fully expected to keep a foot in both places and they did not expect the loss of their patronages. So revenge may be another. I think the vast number of people couldn’t care less about any of this.

Their "side" is out there, let it go, move on, be the bigger person(s). Anger only hurts the person who has it, not the people to whom it is directed.
