Oh, dear lord. To me, it's right up there with obsessing over eye color.

Okay, I'll confess. I have green eyes. I married a man with brown eyes. Need I point out we are both Caucasian? His father had blue eyes. I really hoped my children, or at least one of them, would have something other than brown eyes. Alas, they both had brown eyes. And guess what? They both turned out to be great human beings, despite having brown eyes.

A bit of sarcasm here.

I had to live through the same thing with my wife from my family. And the only link to royalty my family can claim is that they are royal pains in the asses.
