those guys climbed over, and then nobody needs to even climb. Two cuts of one upright, one foot and five feet above the ground, and any reasonably mobile person can get through, and many, many would. A couple minutes work, with a self a powered tool you can carry in one hand, never mind a backpack. Literally, a couple minutes. Two minutes. Two.

It might surprise Trump, the GOP, ICE, CBP, DHS, and other related assholes, but.... there are Home Depots in Mexico. 120 of them. And that just Home Fucking Depot. There may, perhaps, also be other hardware stores in existence there. Can you imagine?!? Shocking, I know. And they all sell tools which can get through this fence as fast as climbing over.

Of course, perhaps it bears pointing out that not only is this fence very very easy to climb, but the designers and builders did most of the deconstruction work in advance. If it were solid, one would have to make vertical and horizontal cuts... but Dolt45 wanted a see-thru wall, so the designers/builders made the long vertical holes from the beginning. So two very short horizontal cuts and "the wall" no longer "walls" very good.

to cut that.

That rope ladder probably cost $5 to make, and you can just leave it behind.

But your point is well taken. The whole thing is a freaking joke. Like a friggin 20 ft wall is going to stop people. In the 21st Century.

The Great Wall of China wasn't even that great when made many centuries ago.

I hope the contracts (I'm sure most of them no-bid) that were granted for this monstrosity are carefully looked over by the appropriate IG's.

Apparently what he said exactly was "This is a first-class case of man's monument to stupidity" in reference to the Maginot line in 1944. The re-write is far more pointed.

The posts are supposed to be filled with 6500 psi concrete to offset grinders, torches and saws.
The spacing was to have 3 purposes. One was to not allow a ladder to have a stable purchase on the wall but a rope will fix that.
Second it was to keep from grappling hooks having anything to grab onto.
Last was to allow Border Patrol to see if someone was messing with the wall. It is a bad idea to have your structure give the smugglers cover right up to the border.

First Section of fence was built by the U S Navy Sea Bee's in 2007 for GW Bush. Design was first made then, and changed slightly for tRump.

Call UBER, hop right over the fence. Some carry enough weight for two adults and two children, 500 pound capacity. And the developers are major firms with billions available for development. I bet the fee for a hop will be about $25.

Trump would not believe that Mexicans were smart enough to defeat his Great Wall. I have worked hand-in-hand with Latino workers, legal and illegal, in the construction industry. To generalize about them, they are smart, they are clever and they work efficiently and hard. That wall is a joke to them. Forget the angle grinder, too slow. A battery powered reciprocating saw (Sawzall) would make mincemeat of that wall. I have watched people cut doorway size holes in 8" thick, solid concrete, steel reinforced walls in just a few minutes, with equipment from the rental center; It ain't rocket science.

The fence was a very expensive vanity wall. A fence is not worth a damn without guards, if you have the guards, a chain link fence would do fine to define the line. If you don't have guards, you can't build a fence that can not be defeated. The Chinese tried it and failed, the Romans tried it and failed, the French tried it and failed, the Germans tried it and failed, but Trump thought he could pull it off. What is is called when you make the same mistake, over and over, expecting different results each time? Trump should have studied history.

Couldn't you spread your legs wider, *push* against the stiles, and climb up as in a chimney or crevice with less danger of slipping ? (Not that this doesn't seem to work well enough, LOL!)
