I think it was Meghan Markle who said that feminism is about fairness. Best definition I’ve heard. And I really love that Bob Marley record

I’m so lucky my parents taught me the value of education. The suffragette great grandmother was on my father’s side. My grandmother would tell me about her and show me pictures and tell me about the demonstrations she went to.Even as a child it wasn’t that hard to understand the issue

My mom was a professional dressmaker before she was married (my dad didn't want her to work though).
And she was a top flight draftswoman during WWII.
In her second job doing that - she was the head draftsman and nearly 50 people had to report to her with their work! 👍

As a policy analyst involved in int'l telecommunications negotiations, she attended a LOT of conferences, and so on. She was having breakfast with a few people she'd come to know, when a Russian delegate came by their table and wished them a Happy International Women's Day.

Then, he turned to my sister and wished her a happy birthday. She was surprised, and asked him how he knew it was her birthday. He put his index finger along side his nose, smiled a little and softly said "Russian Intelligence."

The table found it quite surprising, a little comical and a little sinister, although not unexpected, in retrospect.

My only Women's Day story.
