I can't believe Harry had to make an appointment to see his dad or grandmom.

I do feel for this young man. His path is similar to that of his Great-Great-Great Uncle, the Duke of Windsor. Abdicated the throne in 1936 to be with the woman he loved, to live in exile as the Duke of Windsor. Harry is far smarter than that. He and Meghan will be alright, despite the hurdles they will have to overcome.

(16,785 posts)From the start of the Tudor dynasty that formed in 1485 to 1603, the reign of the Stuarts from 1603 to 1714, taken over by the Hanovers in 1714 that culminated with the ascension of Victoria in 1837, the House of Windsor from 1914 until today, has a very storied history. Scandals aplenty. Corruption, greed, this family was far from immune.
William and Harry represent the future of the House of Windsor, but to what degree? Prince Harry is smart to step down. Prince William is not as outgoing as Harry is, and thus might be the one to adhere to the traditions and protocols that have ruled this family for well over 400 years.
We can only wish for the best for Harry and Meghan.
