Republicans are stuck between a rock and hard place.

All they can do is make excuses.

Because they cannot admit to the truth.

They were complicit in the attack upon our nation's Capitol on January 6th.

They make excuses.

First, they pretended that the attack was all over-blown.

Then, they tried to shift the blame. What are the Democrats doing putting a fence around our Capitol, they asked?

They were almost silent when it came to punishing those that marched on the Capitol and killed people and desecrated the center of our democracy.

Because, the more they tried to blame the culprits, the more guilty they looked to the rest of America.

They are still looking for an escape from this criminal plot they hatched with Donald Trump.

They will say anything to try and escape any responsibility. They will do and say anything except tell the truth.

To paraphrase the old saying, they might as well keep quiet and be thought of as criminals than to open their mouths and remove all doubt.

They continue to lie their asses off,

Continue to vote in unison,

Continue their absolute devotion to the Oranges Fuhrer.

Continue to further enrich the rich and shit all over the poor.

Stealing elections, disenfranchising voters, and holding power is their ONLY intent.

They have proven their contempt for democracy. They have had a taste of fascism and it went down well.

Do they not know the definition of “democracy?”

Democracy (Greek: ????????ί?, dēmokratiā, from dēmos 'people' and kratos 'rule')[1] is a form of government in which the people have the authority to choose their governing legislators.

I just watched a vid of a "speech" by the losing candidate for CD-9 (NJ) for 2020. He's already getting his campaign revved up for 2022.

In that speech, he claimed that HR-1 is going to "destroy democracy" b/c:

1. Generally, it will allow "anyone" to vote in elections.
2. Specifically, 16 year olds will be able to vote. Kids voting on your taxes!
3. No voter ID nationally in order to vote.
4. Re-districting after the Census: only the federal government will draw the lines, taking that job away from the states.

Stuff like that. And he was getting really worked up about this. He's gonna save his city, his state, and the nation.

I don't know if he knows all his statements are lies. He could be repeating without actually reading the bill, fact-checking, etc.

But hey, it sounds good . . . . .

and fake news about the evils of liberalism. There are really no repub solutions to any of their issues beyond cancel culture. There like that rather stupid X-Files movie "Fight the Future." Demographics are working against them, and it gets worse every year. The only way for them to win is to cancel the "culture" that is democracy.

The only answer I see is in the criminal indictments over the insurrection, and I expect that to be an uneven hand, some successes, some slaps on the wrist.

Democrats should FIERCELY defend themselves, and their governance, and their policies. Don't let gaslighting and triangulation diminish our successes.

Recruit strong candidates. And find an election strategy on state legislatures, we're in quicksand.
