I've been trying for weeks but can't get any further than a waiting list with 10,000 other people my age (over 65). Rite Aid, Walgreens, Mercy Health just say it's not available in my area. I even waited in line for a two hours to sneak in last weekend with a forged document, but found out they were only giving the 2nd shot that day.
They came around at dialysis today and told me they're getting ten doses of the Moderna drug and I'm one of the ones there who need it the most. Depending on how you look at that, I guess I'm pretty lucky. haha

(58,785 posts)Democrats. The whole vaxj situation has been and continues to be transformed. Last week was different from the week before, next will be better still. It was urgent before, and now the variants double down on that.
Over 92 million doses have officially been given so far, and it's likely higher than that because data lag.

(29,173 posts)Interesting. I received a call last night rescheduling my appointment from 8 April to tomorrow. Looks like the distribution has finally been kick started.
Thank you, President Biden.

(10,075 posts)Getting J & J this Saturday. Im a retired payroll admin for a school district and I work for a temp agency PT doing payroll for the same district I retired from, from home. Anyway the county declared that ALL people working in public schools are to get the vaccine so even though I have no contact with students at all, I qualified and Im in the system via the temp agency. Yay!!

(8,169 posts)I'm a little anxious about the second shot. first one was a breeze, no side effects whatsoever. Hardly noticed any soreness in my arm the next day, didn't even feel the "jab". I always feel the jab. The experience was quite exceptional.
I'm just hoping my second one is a similar experience. But I'm prepared for slightly adverse side effects.
We'll see how this goes in a few hours.
