Politico: The Biden blitz is coming

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/03/09/biden-american-rescue-plan-covid-474919

-snip-

Biden is scheduled to deliver his first prime-time address as president Thursday, which will focus on the Covid crisis. Later this month, he’ll hold the first press conference of his young presidency. He’s committed to making a still-unscheduled address to Congress. And officials are busy preparing for a sprawling sales campaign designed to draw attention to the benefits of the Covid-relief package. Biden, first lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and others will hit the road to tout, among other things: the $1,400 checks, how billions of dollars in the bill will reopen schools, and the investments being made in increasing the numbers of vaccinations.

“There are a lot of people who use the term ‘victory lap’ in a derogatory way. I’ve already heard people saying that Biden is about to take a victory lap. Well, that’s a lot of crap,” said House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn (D-S.C.), a close Biden ally. “One of the—if not the biggest—mistakes that Obama made, in my opinion, was getting the Recovery Act done and not explaining to people what he had done.”

Biden and top administration officials acknowledged they’ll have to do more to ensure the benefits of their package sink into the public’s consciousness. And they’ve spent weeks carefully planning how best to begin their efforts while much of the country remains consumed by the pandemic. White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday that once the American Rescue Plan is signed, “We will need to do some work and use our best voices.”

-snip-

BIden enters this new phase in an enviable position. Support for the coronavirus legislation is sky high, as is confidence in the president’s handling of the pandemic.

"I think they start from a very popular place,” said Robert Gibbs, Obama’s press secretary when the 44th president passed his own recovery act. “This legislation from the polling looks more popular than the 2009 bill. The real question now is driving that awareness. They should be reminding people as often as they can, what is in it for them. This is the foundation of essentially what they are going to run on in four years."

People need to know what is being, done...how n why. Tell us until we get it, if ya have to. I agree.. great things can be done but an explanation..not a parade (!) but just the facts. I’m so impressed with this administration..qualified people in the right place. We’re on the right track, IMO

If the Major networks could give Trump 30-60 minutes every early evening on Network TV, like they did for months and months, the Dems should demand no less from them. Time for Biden to give a chat every evening on every network TV channel.

If the Networks balk, the Dem's should run ads at that time period every night showing that the networks are obviously Republican leaning, not liberal like the Repubs tell their voters continuously. The Dems should also humiliate that station for not allowing it, free of charge, to be on all network TV stations. The Dems could make an ad, showing continuous video clips of Trump being allowed to rant on endlessly, and in the ad ask why that station won't grant the same fairness to Biden.

I got to tell you the Lincoln Project should be hammering the living shit out of the RepubliCons with ads running every evening on prime time and also buy ad time on Fox News and other RW news media.....

I gotta believe, like you, that this admin is hitting home runs every day and the people should hear about it every day.
If someone like the Lincoln Project were to start a program doing this, and accept donations to fund them buying commercials,
I would send a check immediately. So would Millions of other donors across the U.S.

Now is not the time to take a breather. Both the RepubliCONs and Trump are re-grouping and hell driven to cream the Democrats.

Too many people who benefited from "Obamacare" were ignorant of how they benefitted. Many people in KY didn't realize that their ConnectCare was really Obamacare that had been renamed in KY. Employed folks didn't realize that they could keep children on their plans until age 26 because of Obamacare. It was so frustrating. etc etc

Dems can't be low key and assume people "get it" because nearly 50% of them are apparently dumb as rocks as they voted for Trump et. al. Accomplishments need to be clearly labeled "Courtesy of Joe Biden and the Dem Party" or the Repubs will co-opt the message and bullet point things in a negative way that will stop progress and compromise Dem prospects in the 2022 mid terms.

That would really sink into the average American's consciousness.

Former set the precedent, it is a bad PR move to not do the same.

Just my opinion.

Mississippi pastor Shane Vaughn has followed up viral election conspiracy theories by claiming that former President Donald Trump is responsible for the $1,400 stimulus checks that some Americans will be receiving after Democrats passed the latest COVID-19 relief bill.

Biden's name on them will be what many, maybe most, would remember

I mean, he lays it all out there:
“One of the—if not the biggest—mistakes that Obama made, in my opinion, was getting the Recovery Act done and not explaining to people what he had done.”

And yet old habits die hard I guess.

But they don't have to be as crass as the orange ass. Don't have to copy that. But letting the public know that this new cheque was from the Biden administrations work could have been done more subtle. Such as invent a catch phrase for Biden's whole COVID plan of action. "A New Dawn" or something. Democrats repeating that phrase every chance they get to on media. So that by the time people get the cheques, and there is a "A New Dawn for Americans" written along the top, they will put two and two together.

Just to make sure that even in the dungiest dirtiest corners of the Trumpiest Red State, they will not be confused into exactly who made it possible. Because I can see hate radio jocks indoctrinating those backwaters with alternate facts, how this new cheque was already approved by Trump, who had done most of the work to get it prepared. And in fact, Biden reduced the amount and eligibility. I'm serious, they are that decrepit.

He should have enclosed a letter with every check. Two columns. Senators and party affiliation and their votes yes or no to the sending of the check they find enclosed.
RepubliCons in one column, Dems in the other column.

that NO republicans voted in favor of this bill. No republicans in the house or senate voted for this. Say it over & over over & over over & over. Every senator or representative at the state or federal level needs to drive this point home until the whole world knows it. Republicans are standing in the way of getting the USA into the 21st century successfully.

DC, and can easily be sold lies. Hard to believe, but apparently many of them thought Trump sent them his own money in those stimulus checks. Ds, unfortunately, need to play the propaganda game, much more and/or far better than they do.
