Steamrolled by Nevada's Democratic establishment in 2016, Sanders supporters have now taken over one of the nation's top state parties and that could have far-reaching consequences.

Five years ago, Bernie Sanders supporters were steamrolled by the Democratic establishment in Nevadas presidential caucus.
This weekend, pro-Sanders forces finally got their revenge.
A slate of uber-progressive Sanders allies, endorsed by the tightly organized Democratic Socialists of Americas local chapter, won control of the Nevada Democratic Party in leadership elections on Saturday. On the losing side was one of the most powerful forces in Democratic politics: the well-oiled operation run by former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
The takeover of the state party, aka the Reid machine, represents a dramatic turnaround from the 2016 presidential race, when Sanders fans were accused of throwing chairs and making violent threats at a wild convention in Nevada charges they vehemently deny to this day.

(19,382 posts)Its a good test that only affects one state. This could be good. Its a wait and see. If its a success, it could have huge possibilities across the country. Im waiting to see before positive or negative comments. This is unknown territory.

Apparently how successful DSA-endorsed candidates are is based on them beating Democrats...?

What we don't see in the story is any quote by any of the "pro-Sanders forces" that indicates they were after anything like "revenge". The writer alone is responsible for using such inflammatory language in this piece.
