FBI arrests two brothers from Southern California in Capitol riot case

The day after the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, an anonymous tipster from Finland alerted the FBI to a video on a Finnish newspaper‘s website. It showed a man with a bloody forehead outside the Capitol building wearing a black ballistic vest and an American flag as a cape.

“There were people scuffling with the cops, and that’s when I got hit with a projectile — not sure what it was,” the 33-year-old man, Kevin Cordon of Alhambra, told a U.S. correspondent for the Finnish publication Ilta Sanomat.

“And then from there, we proceeded into the broken windows and into the Capitol building. We were walking around the hallways, and the Trump supporters were all going nuts.”

On Tuesday, Cordon and his brother, Sean Carlo Cordon, 35, of Los Angeles, were arrested and charged with violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds and other crimes stemming from the assault on the Capitol by Donald Trump supporters, authorities said. The mob broke into the building in an attempt to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.

6. Why should the 18-year-old be released?

He would be released into his parents' custody and they're the ones who indoctrinated him into this cult in the first place. He was homeschooled and his parents admit they feel the same way. Plus they drove him down to Washington DC. They can't be trusted. Too bad, but he needs to stay and it's just too bad his parents can't be charged.

I'm not keen on locking up 18-year-olds either, but if they do the crime they need to do the time. How many poor kids of color are locked up with exorbitant bail for stupid stuff? I hate that justice is so unequally applied in this country. Committing treason against the United States of America is certainly a graver crime than smoking a joint on the street.

Do you think that no 18-year-olds should be jailed? This was a violent crime.

18. You're right...Justice isn't fair.

There is no evidence he engaged in any violence of any kind.

There are extenuating circumstances for this guy. home schooled, indoctrinated by parents, 18 yo. And 18 yo stupidity.

I think with the right punishment he can be salvageable.

10 or 20 years in prison will make him a harden criminal.

I think given his age and circumstances , he deserves some compassion.

Prison will solve nothing IMHO.

Did you note how many of these 300+ arrested seditious criminals had military service?
It appears boot camp is not at all an assurance of grooming a better person.
Also, your point could be extended to any nonviolent crime.
Should we let every burglar, car thief, and computer fraudster out? Or does there have to be a victim? Then who gets to decide how much "pain" the victim(s) suffered.
Sometimes when one is out there on a limb by themselves, there's a reason they're alone
