Instead of only consulting with their wealthy donors, they need to talk to voters. However, they are afraid to do that, so they continue to talk with those donors. Town hall meetings? No, can't have those. They're too dangerous, see? Angry people make them feel vulnerable.
If they asked actual Republican voters how they feel about things like getting a stimulus check or actually being able to get their COVID-19 shot, they'd discover the actual truth.
But, no worries. They won't do any of that. They don't like hearing from rank and file voters. What do those stupid voters know, anyhow?
