Americans support restricting unvaccinated people from offices, travel: Reuters poll
By Chris Kahn

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A growing number of Americans want to get the coronavirus vaccine, and a majority also support workplace, lifestyle and travel restrictions for those not inoculated against COVID-19, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Friday.

The national opinion poll of 1,005 people, conducted on Monday and Tuesday, suggested the pace of vaccinations may pick up as more vaccines become available and more people want them.

There were a bunch of recommended vaccines, but at least one was required before we entered east Africa.

Read the HIPAA Privacy Rule, which applies in the United States and not other countries since 1996. Many in the coming days, weeks and months ahead will be thankful to former President Bill Clinton for signing HIPAA into law at that time.

they are spreading a deadly disease, requirements to be vaccinated before being in groups of unsuspecting people seem reasonable.

I AM TOTALLY FOR THIS

Anyone to be Forced to share their Personal Health Information, Treatments, Histories, etc with the Public-at-Large with the exceptions of PHI in very limited cases -- and in those limited cases they can only use the information as outlined by HIPAA.

That is the Privacy Rule in a nutshell and it's the law. COVID did not eliminate an individual rights under the HIPAA Privacy Rule and won't unless the law is repealed - which is unlikely to happen for many sound reasons.

is transmitted through the air by breathing/coughing/talking up to 20 feet away, that potentially affects too many others. This is not like HIV, which you won't catch by traveling on a plane or working in the same office as someone else. Nor does it have the same social stigma attached, however ludicrous.

It could be as simple as a designation on your ID, either COVID-19 vaccinated or medically exempt (for people who truly cannot take vaccines for medical reasons). You want to fly? Get your ID updated.

I believe there are exceptions for disclosure to public health authorities and schools. Now, that does not apply to private parties but HIPAA could be amended. I did a little bit of research into HIPAA and other medical privacy rules (for a very different purpose) and there are major lobbying groups (hospitals, medical record companies, etc.) who've pushed for some relaxation of the rules, usually citing care coordination. I think those interests lining up with public concerns about COVID safety creates an ideal environment for an amendment to HIPAA. But, we'll see how things unfold.

Within a certain number of days.

We've crossed that Rubicon already. Proof of vax isn't any more of a stretch. These are privately owned places/companies that are already enforcing this. Have been doing so for many many months

Nothing changes. Not one thing. Just has also just flew last week to TPA. Nothing was required but a Mask and not being sick. Also a Private Company has no more RIGHTS to a persons' Medical Information than a Public One.

HIPAA is a really good thing. Folks just need to know about it and demand their rights to the LAW.

A lot of companies are reportedly creating a variety of incentives for vaccination. They're less open about how they'll handle people whose refusal would threaten the company's health and profits. Varies according to available options, no doubt.

I'm sure many claiming they won't be vaccinated can be bribed. They're not exactly among our more principled people.
