SANTA ANA, Calif. (CN) Democrats picked up a second seat on the five-member Orange County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday when Costa Mesa Mayor Katrina Foley won a special election to replace a Republican supervisor elected to Congress last year.
From the nearly 96,000 ballots cast in the special election, Foley picked up 44.28% of the vote out of a crowded field of five candidates, according to Orange County Registrar of Voters data posted Tuesday.
Republican John Moorlach, a former state senator and Orange County supervisor who was backed by the countys GOP party, took second in the race with 30.98% of ballots.
Moorlach also recently lost a bid for a second full term in the state Senate, losing to Democrat Dave Min this past November.

As a California Resident for the past 50 years, Orange County first place of residence, I'm very happy to read reports like this one.
Gives me a lot of hope. Yay!

That the party of GQP more than likely won't be recalling Gavin Newsome, because this state is no longer as red as it was in the early 2000's and besides, I do NOT want this state going back to the way it was when The Terminator destroyed it, because all the GQP is good for is destroying economies that Dems have to then come in and repair.
