That's the impression I got when listening to him being interviewed on Howard Stern.

(13,106 posts)Sounds to me like he is being sneaky, trying to win both sides. Hubby heard him on Howards show and thought his ideas were a bit nutty.

(101,705 posts)I think he regrets some of the on-air stuff he did when he was younger which was just mean.

(13,106 posts)With Beth for the good in my opinion. My husband laughs when he talks about Bachelor and other shows he watches with Beth.
At first I wondered if it was another pretty blond marrying rich guy but she really loves him and has turned him into quite a animal lover.

(11,222 posts)I think he does poorly covering it but fools a lot of people. I have watched him over the years and so very very full of himself. Pretend humble.
Cosmocat
(15,374 posts)Of what you note, but he made a bizarre upgrade in his acting the last decade.

(4,969 posts)than Abbott or similar Trump sycophant. I am assuming that Abbott is term limited as Gov, he's on term 2, but I could be wrong. McConaghey has name recognition on his side and he has played it neutral and he is good looking. That probably plays well in TX on the right unlest there is a more esteemed Rep candidate. Assuming TX gets hit with another wave of Covid due to complete removal of restrictions, damage from the cold snap/power issue, Houston's hurricane/flood issues and other serious missteps, the voters may be looking for serious change. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out or if it is all forgotten by next major election.

(190 posts)For a couple of months now. That guy Abbott is a real piece of work - a generic, knock-office, wannabe Bush.
But he is not endearing. Not charismatic.
And certainly doesnt seem to give many thoughts to ALL Texans. Maybe just those that serve him.
Maybe if Beto runs again, after Abbott runs Texas into the dirt, we will be ready for that serious change - and go blue. Its time....

Colin Kaepernick was blackballed from the NFL for expressing social and political views many NBA players routinely express without experiencing any repercussions.

(24,292 posts)deodorant is totally superfluous.
I use it because I like to smell good, as opposed to having no scent at all; but if you need to find a reason to dislike McConaughey, perhaps you might consider searching for something slightly more significant.

(5,109 posts)It's not that I think celebrities can never make good politicians (e.g. Al Franken) but you have to ask "If this guy wasn't a movie star would I for a second consider him qualified for the job?"

He is prolly a secret libertarian, all naked bongo's and weed.
Doubt he really cares about most people, but i'm sure he wants most people to go watch his movies.
