Seems like everyone else in my life already had it.
Ok, this is a childish, irresponsible rant of a OP.
Dammit. A year of this! I HAVE been patient!
Sorry....

(27,856 posts)So, I know the feeling! I won't tell you to be patient, because I sure as hell wasn't. As I recall, I was on a REAL fist shaking state of mind, that day.
Michigan has just announced that in a few weeks, the sign up will be open for everyone 16 and older. I'm guessing that a lot of other states might just be able to do the same thing, soon. It might still take a while, but believe me - just having a set appointment feels great.
Good appointment vibes are heading your way!

(2,234 posts)I learned over the past few months that my close circle of friends are either over 65, or are a teacher or a health care worker of some kind. I am 63 and none of those things.
Three days before Ohio opened up to over 60, the emails from friends started coming. Almost everyone had their second shot or would have it within a couple weeks. They wanted to plan. Was it conceivable that we could resume our monthly get-togethers outdoors by the end of April? Ive been tough as nails through this whole ordeal, but I completely broke down and ugly cried. I had no clue when I could get a vaccine. It had held at 65+ for almost a month with no sign of changing. Hubster wrote a pointed email that said not everyone had their first shot, we didnt know when that would happen, and he would not be getting together until I could be there, too.
Two days later, the gov announced 60+ would open the following week. And I ugly cried from happiness. I got my first shot on the 5th. Hubster got his second shot this morning. I get my second shot on the 25th. It looks like were on for late April after all.
Hang tight, it will happen. I know this sucks, but it will happen.

(40,759 posts)64 and 1/2 yrs old and I was frustrated as all get out too bc it seemed like everyone I knew had already got their shot weeks ago and it seemed like theyd NEVER open up,for under 65, then once they did finally I couldnt get an appt. ANYWHERE even though I spent hours searching every damn day. It sucked!! Im ashamed for being so stressed out over it. Please know that youll get one, theyre opening up more appointments all the time as the BIDEN administration gets the vaccine out. I know exactly how you feel.

(9,173 posts)Supposedly late March/early April I will be eligible to try and make an appointment--I'm 51, in the next-to-last eligibility phase.

Its a site that notifies people if there are unused vaccines at different locations.
FYI I got the Pfizer vaccine early (Im 59) because the VA had unused vaccines and I had signed up on its website saying I was interested in getting vaccinated.

(2,074 posts)This is pretty much what I said earlier this week. I'm only 50 but with serious health issues that have pretty much kept inside my house for a year (I don't even go to the grocery store myself). These health issues placed me in Category 1b, and I 've been on the waiting list since February, but could still not get an appointment. And it seemed as if everyone I knew was starting to get their shots, even some folks with no health issues. Hubby had his first shot in December (he works in a hospital), so I felt a tiny bit envious of him. So earlier this week I just started to feel pretty fed up, and in fact felt a bit teary on Tuesday.
And then, yesterday, out of the blue, I got my email to say I can make a vaccine appointment. Got my first Pfizer shot this afternoon.
So, here's hoping you get that out-of-the-blue email soon. If you are eligible, make sure you're registered for the waiting list.
Hang in there! Our wonderful new president is moving things along at great speed.

(32,017 posts)No telling when the daughter can get an appointment, much less the shot. The wait is very frustrating.
But, I should also mention that if you dont need that stimulus check, we are a worthy cause and will put it to good use. What with the pandemic unemploying both of us, the Texas Deep Freeze nearly killing us and requiring enormous repairs to our trailer, and then with me dislocating my shoulder and breaking a rib last week ... were in pretty bad shape.
Any help would be appreciated. (Only half joking.)

(14,463 posts)Ours have no show lists and recently many have been called as more people are getting them all over the place. Also people arent computers... when a computer says no, a pharmacist might say yes if he knows he has plenty in stock. I arrived really early for mine because I came from work, and the pharmacist took me right away because there was no line.
