(28,075 posts)Every thing was fine Friday. Saturday I woke up with a high fever, headache, and body aches - I could barely bring myself to move. I spent most the day in bed until late in the afternoon when I moved to the couch to stare uncomprehendingly at the TV the rest of the day. Fortunately I had been warned it could be this bad or I would have been pretty frightend. I felt worse than I ever did with Covid.
Sunday I was achy but that may have been more from not moving much on Saturday. Monday feeling good.
I get my 2nd shot on April 1. I've been told I could breeze through this one or have the same sort of reaction. Either way, it's a small price to pay.
I had a thread about it earlier in the week.

(692 posts)The vac site on my left arm is sore and a little swollen. Other than that, I feel fine...
Tested Covid Positive on January 13th.

(68,556 posts)that lingered after I tested positive like exhaustion, a cough and stomach upsets have gone away in the last couple of days. I had no reaction to the shot...had bit of a headache but I didn't drink any water that morning. I get dehydrated easily.

(35,961 posts)Sorry if that's a dumb question, but living in a country where very very few people were infected, it hadn't occurred to me. Doesn't having had Covid make you immune? I guess that vaccination would make it even more certain that you're protected, and I'm wondering now, because my cousin came back from a vacation in New Orleans just before our international borders closed and she and her partner had Covid. It'll be interesting to know if they get vaccinated, though the way it's going, Australia and other countries like the US have so many millions of so many different shots that they could vaccinate their populations many times over while other smaller and vulnerable nations in the Pacific and Asia don't have the funds or the resources to vaccinate their populations...
Anyway, every time since President Biden came into power I see an American online say they've got the jab, I do a happy smile

(2,636 posts)Received my first dose of Pfizer vax yesterday. Had Covid in December.
Sore shoulder from the injection. Felt heavy earlier today, a taste of that extra gravity from the 'vid. I'm starting to get waves of hot flashes, and I'm sniffly.
Mr. Oh Nette got second Moderna dose this afternoon. So far, ok, achy, but he'll feel the brunt of it tomorrow.
Buddy is a nurse, and said those who've had it have a rougher go with the vaccine.
That said, it was like spring has sprung. I feel like a bear, coming out of a very long hibernation.
The best part of getting vaccinated? Making plans to travel.

(1,425 posts)Feb 27, after getting a very mild case of Covid right before Thanksgiving. My only reaction was to get covid arm about 24 hrs later. It took 3-4 days for the swelling to go away. I never had any other symptoms, but I never had a fever when I had Covid. Just mild nasal/chest congestion, mild body aches, and lethargy. Sadly, I still have no sense of smell.

(5,164 posts)I had my first and second pfizer. The second one this Wednesday. First shot I had a sore arm, myalgia/ headache, and general ick. I felt feverish but no fever. I had to take a heavy duty pk the night before due to severe back spasm, and I took tylenol every few hours when the symptoms started.
This time I had severe itching starting 2-3 days before the appt. I took Benadryl 2 days before. After the shot I had pretty much the same symptoms but worse, worse arm pain, worse everything and worse headache and some nausea and lack of appetite as well. I think that was because I took no pain killers at all before or after. Yesterday I woke up with a sever back spasm on the side I had the shot on. I took tylenol and used lidocaine gel. I had used some lidocaine before I went to sleep because my back was already acting up. I mostly used heat and food to treat the vaccination symptoms. My symptoms are receding a bit now.
I think I had covid again in January, caught from my father who was exposed at the er and I took z pak again which knocked it out.

(35,961 posts)Hello from Australia. My mum was one of the first residents of an aged care facility here to get the Pfizer jab. Her second jab is due tomorrow. I went and sat with her as long as I could after she had the injection and it had no effect on her. The staff were keeping a close eye on all the residents and none have had any side effects.
