In politics, like comedy ...

… t-t-t-timing is everything.

And the timing of the accusations against Andrew Cuomo should not be ignored.

Trump wants revenge against the man who came across as ‘in charge’ at the same time Trump was being ridiculed for his mishandling of the response to COVID-19.

Trump is under investigation in New York State – and any insinuation that NYS is under the control of Democrats of ‘questionable character’ feeds into the GOP narrative that corruption is rife within the state’s Democratic office-holders – and thus any accusations against Trump are the work product of biased anti-Trumpers.

A he said/she said narrative in the Cuomo case means pitting Democrat against Democrat – those who believe him v those who don’t. Divide and conquer – oldest political strategy in the book.

An investigation into Cuomo’s alleged wrongdoing will suck a lot of media oxygen out of the 24-hour-newscycle air, which means less media attention focused on more important fare – like the investigations into January 6th, and the complicity of certain Republicans in the events of that day.

It is what it is. And it stinks.

Too bad the accusers didn't speak up earlier but, it seems to me, the 'violations' weren't egregious enough, 'just' the common behavior of bullies, which we've become accustomed to.

A dead on perfect bullseye.

THEM????? complaining about any Dem?, at any level of sexual correctness?, is beyond laughable..........

They have begun the character attacks, making the accusations all up if necessary. And people have said that Trump and RepubliCONs are THE most revengeful people you will ever meet.

Don't "Franken" any Dem Political or official with out a fair investigation......And just for fun, let's get Franken to run for office again!!

Love your stuff Nanc, you need to write more often!

You are right up there with Molly Ivans and Hunter Thompson in my book.

James Carville laughing, once said about some of the Republican women, "that is what you get when you tie a 5$ bill on a string and drag it thru any trailer park......."

I'm beginning to think she deliberately did this (with a fake or mostly altered story) to create a snowball effect which inspired other women to report issues.
So there may be some truth in the other ladies stories (or some of theirs) but I don't think hers is the truth.
I also don't see the wedding situation as assault. I see that as an unwanted awkward encounter. She didn't work for him. Was he being a cad? Yes.

The investigation should go forward.
