"It is clear...Governor Cuomo has lost the confidence of his governing partners & the people of NY"

Joint statement by Senators Schumer and Gillibrand:

“Due to the multiple, credible sexual harassment and misconduct allegations, it is clear that Governor Cuomo has lost the confidence of his governing partners and the people of New York, Governor Cuomo should resign.”

Poll: Most New Yorkers don't want Cuomo to resign, say he should not run for reelection

A majority of New Yorkers believe that Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) should remain in office amid mounting scandals — but they don’t want him to run for reelection either, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.

Fifty-five percent of voters said that Cuomo shouldn’t resign, despite calls by a growing number of officials on both sides of the aisle for him to step down. Forty percent believe that Cuomo should leave office.

Grant it, the most recent data are based on a March 4 poll, so the percentages may have changed since then in this rapidly evolving situation, but it is at best inaccurate to say at this point that that Cuomo has "lost the confidence of the people of New York."

At some point you are unable to do your job when you are constantly replying to attacks.

7. I think Cuomo can still do his job. Currently the next thing on his agenda is legalizing pot.

Under Cuomo, New York has achieved:
- $15/hr minimum wage
- tuition-free state university and community college
- gold standard paid family leave guarantees
- gender pay parity protections
- Roe v Wade codified into state statutory law
- science-based covid response with schools responsibly opened since September

Cuomo may be an autocratic office manager, boorish party guest, bare-knuckles political brawler, and SOB to donors who think their money can buy access, but he's been a great governor.

Now he's "the accused". Let the investigations play out, and in the meantime...legalize pot. That would be a great capstone to his remarkable legislative legacy.

4. The people of New York elected him. Let them impeach him, or convict him in court.

Accusations are NOT proof.

Refusal to resign is NOT prima facie evidence of guilt.

8. Maggie Haberman peers and public should ask her via twitter

Why did you not tweet/report about the underage rape case against Trump with the same energy?

Yes, the allegations against Cuomo need to be investigated. But, Maggie's minimal tweets and reporting about Trump's CHILD rape allegations is abominable.

As a reporter, woman and mother she needs to be called out about this.

11. Maggie also continued to collaborate on a book with Glenn Thrush

after sexual harassment allegations came out about him.

The New York Times did not fire Thrush; they suspended him, but he remains to this day in their employment.

Glenn Thrush is an American journalist, pundit, and author. He is a reporter for The New York Times, formerly a White House correspondent. He is also a contributor for MSNBC, and was previously chief political correspondent at Politico and a senior staff writer for Politico Magazine.

In November 2017, The New York Times announced that the newspaper was suspending Thrush while the paper investigated allegations of sexually inappropriate behavior reported in Vox. As a result of the investigation, The New York Times suspended Thrush until January 2018, after which he was allowed to return to work in a different position than his prior White House beat.

Haberman can be a disgusting hypocrite in the service of her career.

If Cuomo is a criminal, indict him. Otherwise, his reputation is destroyed before he’s had a chance to defend it.
