6. Daughter was audited last year

She's exactly the kind of person the relief checks were meant to help (single mom of 3 boys, underemployed and struggling since COVID). Audit took most of the year and turned up nothing (of course). She got her refund last month, plus $100 interest. But she hasn't received a single one of the three rounds of relief checks.

They can oftentimes get through red tape like this. Every office should have a "constituent representative" whose only job is to solve problems like this. The issue is that the IRS will not let you change your account info on their site. Supposedly it is to prevent fraud. Same happened to my daughter. Her credit union flagged the old account and showed the new account number so the check would be deposited in the correct account. However, if it is a different bank, that would not work. Perhaps her Congressional office can help.

I think that should have been done long ago. I mean, you can put in your credentials for other things like transcripts and PIN number.

Last time they had to reissue a check and I got my payment delayed a month.

17. I get my Social Security direct deposit, but I couldn't get them to do this time I have paper checks

Don’t know why. Tried tried twice to get it deposited into my bank account but they insisted on the paper checks. I don’t know if Donny wanted his name on them or what. Yesterday I got a letter from the treasury department informing me that I was getting the second check of $600, which I’ve already gotten, so I have no idea what’s going on.

They were dated February 26th.

I just check the My Payment site. Both of us were “Not Available.” We got direct deposit of the first two rounds, and the $600 payments were deposited on the first day they were available. I did e-file the 2020 taxes about a week ago. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

19. My husband & I both got direct deposit for the first stimulus.

He didn't get the second one, nada, zip, zilch. He gets the same "not available" crap your mother got. And I got my second stimulus on a debit card. The lack of consistency was stupid, but TRUMP. I will be curious to see how this one goes.

I saw that. I hope everyone knows this. I suspect his relief was withheld for exactly this reason—to make sure we pay our 2020 taxes, since we don't have withholding our of our SS checks. I know they said they wouldn't do that, but I think they did.

The Democrats gave the IRS the rest of 2021 to get all the stimulus out. You would think they wouldn’t make such careless mistakes. I have read that even some who changed their direct deposit info through taxes are getting it sent to the old account. It’s even harder to change with my unique tax situation where I don’t normally file.
