We knew how special she was!
I was mad because I couldn't afford cable TV.
I catch her (and the others) now on Tune In. 👍❤️

(13,003 posts)is owned by RepubliCONs. They would love to kick her ass off the air, but the truth is she makes so F***ing much money for them, they can't. The owners love the RepubliCON Party, but they have proven time and time again that they love MONEY even more......
We desperately need the Lincoln Project to keep making their spots, and let us all contribute to paying for four advertisements of each day's ad on FOX NEWS prime time. Same thing with that other group making great video's, I can't remember their name.....

(8,742 posts)I don't knowrecognize anybody in the Rock category or Rock song. Seems to me Pearl Jam had the best album last year. The chicks came out with new music was really good. Green Day put out a good album.

(39,471 posts)It is nice to see Fiona Apple surfacing. I remember watching this Tiny Desk Concert, and was worried about her health (a really good TDC all around, though):
And her letter about her dog Janet broke me. Part of it:
Love, Fiona
So wonderful to see.

(43,850 posts)Dogs help/make us face a whole lot of things about life we avoid where humans are concerned.
Fetch the Boltcutters is one of my favorite, if not my very favorite, albums this past year.

I think I remember her saying she didn't want to ever do that (record a book) again. I bet it was exhausting.

(10,108 posts)I love award shows but have never really been into the Grammys. However, after reading this post, I just turned to it and didn't record the first showing but here on the West Coast, they normally show a repeat immediately afterward because it has to air early here (5 p.m.) so it doesn't start too late on the East Coast @ 8:00. So, I just DVR'd the second showing.
Thank you sooooooooo much for posting!

(12,182 posts)Rachel is a totally seminal figure in progressive political journalism. I could go on and on as to why that is, but does anyone here need to read that?
I thought not.

(4,259 posts)Maddow is a wonderful storyteller who makes the facts come alive in a way that deepens your understanding of the subject matter...so you don't forget the facts so easily. After reading/listening to her work, you feel like you have a much deeper understanding of the big picture and you can see why certain approaches to particular problems will never work, no matter how they try to spin it.

(40,730 posts)... maybe I'll give it another go.
"Blowout" really is quiet remarkable, and it shines a light on the oil/gas industry as it has evolved in the last 25 years. Also Blowout is great at explaining how certain states (mainly Oklahoma and Texas) have been corrupted by oil industry politics.
Congratulations Rachel on your well-deserved award!
