glad to see John Prine get a major shout out...

at the Grammys. His death was so senseless...didn't have to happen. Like so many others...fuck. Anyhow, a glass raised to John Prine and all the others...

it should be a Handsome Johnny, vodka and ginger ale. There is a good chance one might wish to obtain an illegal smile to celebrate, but that's getting to be a legal smile in more and more states.

I am glad to see this. I hate the grammys, crotchety old lady that I have become, so I never watch it anymore. I stopped the year that Paul Simon and his Rhythm of the Saints lost out to Natalie Cole singing duets with recordings of her father. Long long time ago.

John Prine, he really was different and brilliant and needed.

that you are liking what you hear! I do not try to stay current. I do appreciate all the forms music has taken since I stopped listening but I do not like a lot of it. It is not bad it is just not for me. Most of my musicians are still kicking and playing so I am happy and getting new stuff to listen to. I am a classical musician so I keep busy outside of what the Grammys are mostly about, on TV anyway.

Glad you recognized the sig. A lot of people do not but I never get tired of explaining it and will never retire it even when I retire, probably sooner than later. Gotta find a new instrument to learn. Waiting for some Northumbrian Pipes .

We are performing in a performance hall to nobody except the guys recording us. It is so very odd not only playing with a funky mask with a hole in it but mostly to stand up and bow to nobody!!! Sitting 6-10 feet from the people in your section is also difficult. 2 more concerts this season, maybe one will have limited seating but who knows. It is just odd and it actually takes all the fun out of performing. I like having the audience there. It is still fun to play though.

Band music is awesome fun. There is a little band that recently formed in the town about 1/2 hour away from me. I could not play last year as I was already too busy. I hope I can get in this year, all the old University profs are playing, just a band of all of us (I used my music ed degree to go to nursing school so I am not prof to be sure) around this part of the state who have really sort of come to the end but not willing to quit in spite of all the wailing from the younger generations. LOL!
