U.S. Capitol Police suspended an officer Monday after a copy of an infamous antisemitic tract was found near a Capitol Hill security post Sunday, alarming a congressional aide who viewed the document in plain sight at the checkpoint.

Photographs provided to The Washington Post show a printed copy of the Protocols of the Meetings of the Learned Elders of Zion on a table inside an entrance to the Longworth House Office Building.

The Post provided the photographs to the Capitol Police on Monday morning and requested comment. The department said Monday evening that acting chief Yogananda D. Pittman had suspended an officer pending an investigation “after anti-Semitic reading material was discovered near his work area on Sunday.”

“We take all allegations of inappropriate behavior seriously,” Pittman said in the statement. “Once this matter was brought to my attention, I immediately ordered the officer to be suspended until the Office of Professional Responsibility can thoroughly investigate.”

A House staff member spotted and photographed the document around 7 p.m. Sunday while leaving the South Capitol Street entrance to the Longworth Building, one of the few 24-hour entrances on the House side of the Capitol campus.

I don’t know anything about this man. Barring other info suggesting he acts on anti Semitic opinions, I don’t agree with this decision. Maybe he wanted to see and learn what is in the book, doesn’t mean he believes it or acts on it.

It’s ugly. It’s false. It’s an early conspiracy theory document. It would make Q proud — in fact, when the Q idiots open their mouths, one of the first things I noticed were the echoes of a very dark past indeed.

Killing babies, using their blood for ritual purposes, hiding them in a pizza parlor basement — shit like this goes back centuries to the accusations that the “Christ killers” stole Christian children and used their blood to make matzohs for Passover.

The publication of the Protocols in 1903 helped kick off a whole lot of bloody pogroms in Russia. Some of the rest of its travels are quoted below.

When we talk about unacceptable material for the workplace, let’s be real clear about what it is.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Protocols_of_the_Elders_of_Zion

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion (Протоколы сионских мудрецов ) or The Protocols of the Meetings of the Learned Elders of Zion is a fabricated antisemitic text purporting to describe a Jewish plan for global domination. The hoax, which was shown to be plagiarized from several earlier sources, some not antisemitic in nature,[1] was first published in Russia in 1903, translated into multiple languages, and disseminated internationally in the early part of the 20th century.

Henry Ford funded printing of 500,000 copies that were distributed throughout the United States in the 1920s.[2] Distillations of it were assigned by some German teachers, as if factual, to be read by German schoolchildren after the Nazis came to power in 1933,[3] despite having been exposed as fraudulent by the British newspaper The Times in 1921 and the German Frankfurter Zeitung in 1924. It remains widely available in numerous languages, in print and on the Internet, and continues to be presented by neofascist, fundamentalist and antisemitic groups as a genuine document. It has been described as "probably the most influential work of antisemitism ever written".[4]

If the placement of the forgery in 1902–1903 Russia is correct, then it was written at the beginning of the anti-Jewish pogroms in the Russian Empire, in which thousands of Jews were killed or fled the country. Many of the people whom De Michelis suspects of involvement in the forgery were directly responsible for inciting the pogroms.[7]

Literary forgery
The Protocols is one of the best-known and most-discussed examples of literary forgery, with analysis and proof of its fraudulent origin dating as far back as 1921.[15] The forgery is an early example of "conspiracy theory" literature.[16] Written mainly in the first person plural, the text includes generalizations, truisms, and platitudes on how to take over the world: take control of the media and the financial institutions, change the traditional social order, etc. It does not contain specifics.[18]

But I don’t believe in banishing any literature. I believe in education.

As someone pointed out though, if this was in the job then get rid of him.

But merely having a book, even a shit-filled book? No.

Q: The Seuss family owns the rights to all of Dr. Sheds’ papers and books.
Who owns “The protocols...”?

“The Protocols” is beloved by Nazis, neonazis, Fascists, neofascists, fundamentalists (now called evangelicals), Proud Boys, and all those other very fine people. They read it by the light of their flickering Tiki-torches.

I was given a book when I was a teenager, called Behold the Pale Horse, I took it home and read it cover to cover. I almost bought some of it, but recognized it started with a blatant fallacy of logic, "If even only 10% of what I say in this book is true, we're all screwed." It made reference to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion over and over.

This was 30 years ago, I read it, laughed at it, gave it back to the guy and told him it was total fiction written for the weak minded. At the time, I probably didn't realize how racist and anti-Semitic it probably was.

Looking back, the elements of Q were all there. Secret cabals of globalists intent on enforcing a totalitarian state in the US. Incremental erosion of freedoms in preparation for some big event where people will be rounded up and put into re-education camps. These types of books are absolutely insidious and there's no easy way to educate people about them. You can't ban them, that would make them more forbidden and thus true. Teaching critical thinking in schools is the way this stuff is combated, unfortunately I think that is lacking right now.
