One in four House members have opted not to receive Covid-19 vaccine so far

(Snip)

In his letter, McCarthy, however, argued that with 75 percent of the chamber vaccinated, the rate is high enough that the House should return to regular business, including opening the Capitol for tours and ending proxy voting, which allows members to cast without being present in Washington. Democrats, however, say more members need to be vaccinated.

McCarthy sent the letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., last week asking what her plan is to reopen the House and noting “it’s time that we return to regular order.”

"There's a strong desire to get back to a regular floor schedule here on the floor where we are conducting our business, we have the ability to interact with each other as colleagues, it is a much different experience than when people have to trickle in, trickle out," Scalise said.

Hoyer shot back, "It would be a lot simpler if every member had been vaccinated.”

Kindly explain why you haven't received the vaccination.

Hey, McCarthy! Did you get your shots? If you did, whip your members into doing the right thing for once.

He better not get shots until his turn. Most states are 65 and above. Florida just started 60 and above. No way should McCarthy push his way to head of line. That’d deserve criticism.

“My recommendation to you is absolutely unequivocal: There is no reason why you should defer receiving this vaccine,” Brian Monahan, the attending physician of Congress and the Supreme Court, wrote in a letter Thursday. “The benefit far exceeds any small risk.”

Monahan explained to members of Congress that they are among the first in line for the vaccine thanks to a National Security Council directive that gave lawmakers priority to make sure there’s a continuity of government.

For vaccines. So many poor are not able to get the vaccine while the rich and powerful are. Not cool in my opinion.

BTW can we just give these people cyanide tablets? The handling of the C-19 Pandemic
and the vaccine production and its use should be a science, public health, and medical
issue not a political issue.
