New: The Biden admin is expected to announce sanctions related to election interference as soon as next week, 3 admin officials tell me. They didn't disclose details related to the expected sanctions but said that they'll target multiple countries including Russia, China & Iran.

(8,045 posts)Well, only if we can just sanction their republican legislatures. I'm afraid it won't work. But....if only there was a way to hit back at those legislatures.

(83,746 posts)Judge Orders AZ GOP To Pay $18,000 For Its Flimsy Election Fraud Suit
The Arizona Republican Party tried and failed to help ex-President Donald Trump steal the 2020 election-and now they get to shell out $18,000 for the pleasure.
Arizona state Judge John Hannah on Friday ordered the Arizona GOP and their attorneys to pay Secretary of State Katie Hobbs the $18,000 in legal fees that they had burned at taxpayers expense in its suit demanding an audit of Maricopa Countys ballots.
Hannah stated in his order that the Arizona GOP had made no serious pre-filing effort to determine the validity of their claims, which were based on Trumps lies about election fraud and vote counting machines.
Public mistrust is a political issue, not a legal or factual basis for litigation, Hannah wrote.

(8,717 posts)Just those two states have a rancid stench of election fraud. McConnell had approval of 15 percent. And who the hell would vote for Graham that sticks his face all over the country, except SC.
Im in between that stench, and we have our own. Meadows, Tillis, Cawthorn and Burr. And possibly soon a Trump.

(8,045 posts)electoral votes, but North Carolina only really turned red after the Koch brothers brought in all the $$ in the early 2000's. Gerrymandered the hell out of our state, and turned the legislature as red as a baboon's ass.

(8,717 posts)Courts said we are so screwed up, we are no longer a democracy here. Kochs own us, remember Russian plane landing near Concord election eve 2016? Kochs pumped butt loads of cash into GQP here. Cooper is doing best he can, with GQP criminals leading congress. All Meadows clones.
And that prick Cawthorn beat a retired Military honored candidate. Henderson county one of the richest areas in NC. Outlying with deep cove knuckle dragging trump humpers. A deadly combo. Like that here in my county. Very wealthy part time dwellers and poor idiots at the other end.
