6. My ss payments and the first two stimulus checks are direct deposit. My mailing address has changed

and that could be a problem. But, it changed last year with no other problems.

And too many people are getting this error.

.... who receive Social Security and will be receiving a paper check through the mail I wouldn't expect much help from the IRS tool at this time. That has been my experience with the first checks that were mailed.

.....more general, and said simply, for those expecting a paper check through the mail. I also have direct deposit, but there was a problem with the information concerning the first check. Rather than try and correct it, and risk further complications, I took the option for a paper check. The wait is a little longer, but it is automatic using the info for my SS checks.
