At 36 weeks pregnant, a South Florida frontline health care worker received her first shot of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. She gave birth three weeks later to a healthy baby girl — with COVID-19 antibodies.

"Moderna, whose vaccine also received emergency use authorization in the U.S. in December, has not begun trials focusing on pregnancy, but has created a registry to track pregnant women who get its vaccine. Johnson & Johnson, which received emergency use authorization for its vaccine last month, said that it plans to include pregnant women and their infants in its studies as well as collect data on pregnant women via a registry.

Pregnant women were excluded from the original trials of Moderna and Pfizer’s COVID-19 shots, a common practice in such studies."

But a number have already received the vaccine.

3. It would be worse to have more people with no risistance to this killer virus...there are always

risks with vaccines but generally the alternative is worse. If I were pregnant I would get the shot.

6. Our Physician Daughter Wanted to Make a Point

Our physician daughter wanted to make a point and contribute to medical science. She was fully vaccinated by the time our granddaughter was born. So it looks like the vaccine is safe in the last month or two......still waiting for a large enough sample to weigh in.

7. That is fantastic news! Once we know the long term effects of the vaccine on pregnancies

this would really move us forward!! We give all kinds of vaccines safely during pregnancy. A notable exception is the MMR which is definitely NOT SAFE during pregnancy. Flu and Tdap given routinely with no issues. Hope Covid is another that we can give safely because this is REALLY GOOD news!
