I was expecting this badly needed check. I have no help and I'm already badly in debt I haven't been able to sleep in 36 hours.
I didn't file taxes in 2019, but got the first two.. Why is this third one excluding someone as poor as me? I don't plan on reading the entire bill, but I can't understand why people in my position won't get a dime. I was unemployed all of 2019, and sold my personal possessions, records, books, magazines, gifts, things I've collected for 20 years on Craigslist just to pay for basic bills. I haven't left my house in a long time to prevent from spending any money.
Is there some kind of legislation to help the very poor in the future. I tried calling the IRS number, and got nowhere on hold, running out of minutes. It's said that it's possible to get it next year, but I can't register on the site because of my address didn't match with what they have on file. I've lived in over 20 places (including being outright homeless) in the last 7 years.

(11,683 posts)The irs isnt set up for this so they have to pay in batches
90million have been paid , thats not even a third
How did you receive your first two?
If your money got put on a card, keep track of that card
Good luck

(11,683 posts)You can do a non filer form at irs so they have current info
Honestly I thought checks went out last, last time so it could still be in the works

(3,334 posts)We haven't got our direct deposit yet. We don't pay taxes but get direct deposits because we are on Social Security. And yes, we still get "Payment status - not available" on "Get my payment".

(8,095 posts)I would think if you got the first two you would also get this one. Is your address the same as the one for the last check? They would need your current address.
Also, how do you know you were rejected? Did you get a letter or something?
I know not everyone has received theirs yet. For example, we haven't received ours. We file our tax returns electronically but for some reason we got the other stimulus in the mail, as a check, & it seemed like it was 2-3 weeks after most other people had gotten theirs.
DumpTrump20202020
(109 posts)No letter. But on the IRS site, the only other reason (besides rejection) is that "We don't have enough information", but nothing has changed.
For the first one, I went on the IRS site and filled out a few things. I got a paper check in the mail shortly.
For the second one, it just came, but I was able to go to "Get My Payment" and it would say when it was mailed out (including the first one)
The reason I know I've been rejected is that I didn't file in 2019. Seniors, veterans, and those on disability are exempted, though.

(19,997 posts)Which then goes on to list the "possible" reasons is just blather. All it means is you're not in queue yet.
I also had the same until tonight when it now says mine will be here (direct deposit in my case) on the 24th. Ignore it for now. They're doing weekly rollouts it seems.
Breath, I bet it's coming.

(16,385 posts)It might take a while though. For the las stimulus and this one, the site has said not enough info. So I claimed the $600 on my tax return and am hoping Ill get the $1400 soon. I know Im eligible.

(109 posts)That's what I read on the article I posted earlier, anyway
Even for next year, I'm having trouble making an IRS account because (they say) the addresses don't match, but I've lived in many, many different places, and can't remember them all.
I don't mind it taking a while, as long as its within the next few weeks... I paid some bills I normally wouldn't have because I thought I would get it soon, since I got the first two very quickly.

(4,643 posts)According to the IRS site, the next batch of checks are going out march 22. There's still a LOT of money to be sent, so I hope you get yours, but there's a lot of us still waiting.

(34,407 posts)the bill was signed a week ago today, and I don't know how many people do not have direct deposit, but I'm thinking there's a lot. The U.S. Mail, and processing checks... you've got to hold on. It's not an if, it's a when. We're in the same situation. Not if, just when.
DumpTrump20202020
(109 posts)This bill excluded most who did not file in 2019
stillcool
(34,407 posts)why would it exclude 'most' people who didn't file taxes? That makes no sense.

(19,997 posts)My mom didn't file in 2019. She is getting hers next Wednesday.
It uses your previous data to try and find where to send the check. That's why it says the stuff about 2020 and 2019 filing data. If you got the one in January you should be fine on this one which did the exact same.

(109 posts)There are exceptions for those who didn't file in 2019..

(76,188 posts)When the phase out began at $150k, and zeroed at $200k, we got around 22% of the money.
This time when it zeroed as $160k, we didn't qualify

(109 posts)I wouldn't even mind if they took a few bucks out, as I do have credit card and student loan debt up the yin-yang.
I wish you all luck! Thanks for listening to my panic. And thank you President Biden, the Congress, and the Senate.
