Ferrets are Cool

Reported today in my city, with a population of 186,542, that around 35% will not get vaccinated.

As in refusing to get vaccinated. The news had a couple of people stating why and one of them made me particularly mad. The reason for not getting vaccinated? "I will put my faith in God".

I wanted so much to be able to ask this person a couple of questions. But the first one that came to mind was, if you were in a wreck and had a big gash in your side and were bleeding to death, would you "put your faith in God" to keep you from dying, or would you allow medical personnel to treat you?

I'm sure there are more reasonable and measured questions that should be asked of these people, but that was my first thought.

So many anti-Science, Con, Trumpkin, goof balls would reply angrily stuff like "it's just the flu...I don't know what's in that crap...no!, it's all just bs..." I was then asking, "didn't you ever get small pox, rubella, mumps, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis...vaccines?!!" I had to knock it off because of undue negativity it was creating!

We are all living in the same petrie dish. Without herd immunity, we lose a huge percentage of the population....not all of them anti-vaxer jerks.

I am going to propose a simpler explanation for the anti-vax phenomenon. As children, WE ALL HATED NEEDLES! Only when coerced by parents did we surrender our arm and butts for shots.

As we grew older, most of us were able to make the rational choice to endure a momentary pinch for the benefits of the jab.

Others adults, however, are still terrified of needles. They will use any bullshit rationalization to avoid getting a shot. It's not really political. It's not really religious. It's not about "natural" health.

It's about the damn needle!

...for a good percentage of those reticent, hell totally negative, on getting protective vaccines. Wonder if they could develop a nasal spray version? Oral seems unlikely for a corona virus.

But one needle is better than countless needles if I were to wind up in the hospital with COVID. So next week I will get my jab. Not looking forward to it. Just looking forward to getting it over with.

In the people I meet in Vegas. My realtor, my tenant, the tenant’s two adult daughters (one who is a nurse) told me today that they WILL NOT get the vaccine. My realtor even claimed that a cousin of hers died of COVID19 a week after getting the 2nd shot. She of course blames the vaccine 🙄

It’s no use arguing or trying to convince these people. Maybe when travel and businesses are limited to “vaccinated only”, they might change their minds,
