How bad do you think things could it get if/when the Republican regain the majority, taking into account who vindictive they are, not to mention they're general lack of concern for governance or the needs and desires of their constituents and long memories for being stymied?
Edited for clarity.

What would the "DC" state be named? "Columbia" comes to mind, but that smacks of "Columbus", whose name is tainted these days.

(52,155 posts)the fact is many would be insanely unpopular and not get 50 votes. The rest can be accomplished and will be accomplished by them via SCOTUS and states.
Nationwide conscious clause, that is what Fulton V Philly will give us
Abortion bans, those are on their way as I type. Within 5 years there will be a multitude of states that have no abortion clinics and many others with only 1. Many other states will have such restrictions on abortion that it will be all but impossible to get them. All accomplished by SCOTUS and states.
nationwide concealed carry SCOTUS again
nationwide right to work, SCOTUS delivered that for public workers already.
The fact is the filibuster is a one sided weapon

(50,248 posts)Majority is supposed to rule, not super majority. The whole form of government makes no sense. When California has 2 senators and North Dakota also has 2, our "democracy" isn't really representative of the majority of the people. I have no idea what the answer is short of intelligence/common sense/morality implants in all Republicans. They will abuse the system whether they're in the majority or the minority. Sometimes I think we should have an organized scheme to move hundreds of thousands of Democrats to low population red states just long enough to flip the state to sanity.
