Manchin: "I'm still at 60"

Manchin also rejected calls by proponents of gutting filibuster rules to require 41 senators to be present to sustain a filibuster.

"No, I'm still at 60. OK?" he said.

So like, 60 Senators required to sustain a fillibuster? I am most likely wrong here, but it almost sounds like that's what he is saying.

His globetrotting""let's do this, I'm open to this" and "no!!" Responses leave a lot of room for fantastical interpretations.

What the founders envisioned. The Republican strategy is to do whatever they want when they’re in charge rules be damned and then obstruct every thing when democrats are in charge. Is this what Manchin thinks is helping the country? How will his 60 vote requirement ever feed the hungry children in his state? I hate the epic stupidity in this country. I’m so fucking exhausted with it all.

The Constitution specifically empowers the Legislature to set its own rules.

The rules are bullshit and oppressive. They hold the majority hostage. That’s not democracy.

Minority or Majority. They thought they were divisive and destructive. That is why the Constitution never mentions them.

There's also the issue with his daughter and his retribution v. Neera Tanden for calling her out for jacking medication prices when she was CEO of Mylan.

I categorize negotiating with Manchin under "dealing with the devil." We gotta, even if we don't wanna.

"Where is your voting rights bill, Sen. Manchin, that is going to get 60 votes?"

"Where is your immigration reform bill, Sen. Manchin, that is going to get 60 votes?"

Manchin should be challenged to produce if he wants to be taken seriously on the 'sanctity' of 60 votes.
