29. Many years ago, I watched a Monarch butterfly playing in just that way

with a cat that lived with me. The cat could easily have caught the butterfly many, many times, but did not. It was clearly play activity between the two creatures. I watched for about 15 minutes. Eventually, the cat got bored with the game and walked off with her tail in the air.

I was struck by what I saw, and realized that the spirit of play apparently is evident in all animals.
