I hope Biden stops acting like his foot's OK and goes back to wearing his walking boot.

Last edited Sat Mar 20, 2021, 09:24 PM - Edit history (1)

Bidenís injury at end of November included a hairline fracture. It is not unusual for a fracture in the foot to take up to 6months to heal. He has been far too active for that type of injury, IMO, and I notice his limp has been more pronounced.

Biden doesnít need to give a shyt what any RW rag thinks about putting that boot back on, but, he does need to heal properly this time.

4. I get that reaction, but, it is a fact that many people reinjure

themselves when they get back to activity too soon. My husband is exactly the type of person who would take off a walking boot too soon or toss his crutches, just so he could get back to work.

42. His foot is NOT going to stop him from doing what he knows best.

There is being protective and then there is being OVER protective. If he were ill then I would have concern over his health, well being and the situation our country would be in. But it is his foot. His brain is not in his foot. It's at the opposite end of where his foot is. His foot and his ability to do his job are not connected. If by chance he reinjured it and needed surgery then I feel confident that Kamala Harris is quite capable for a day or two.

"I thought that was our job. And our right." Seeing how he apparently needs to be told by everyone what to do, when to do it, how to think, I figured he needed help with his underwear and eating habits as well.

We all have more important things to worry about other than telling him to be careful over his foot ... sheez.

43. WTF? What thread are you reading? Sheez is right.

Where did I say that he was going to do the wrong thing because his foot told him too. Project much?

The point is that the running across every stage and skipping up the stairs is so obvious (well, to everyone but you) that the elderly person doing so is trying to act like he is not the age he is. He doesn't have to do that. No one voted for him because he can jump rope. When he acts that way, it seems to be that the faux news taunts are getting to him. Then when he stumbles because he is showing off, it seems silly. And yes, he is trying to show off. For eight years, he walked with Obama and for decades he walked the halls of Congress. He didn't run across the street to greet every reporter or skip up the stairs.

We didn't elect him for his age or despite his age. We elected him because he was Joe Biden - smarter, kinder, and more capable than his opponent. Don't be the aging uncle who tries to convince the youngsters that he is still cool, still hip.

I get to tell my president whatever I want to tell him. You don't get to tell me that I shouldn't. Find something important to write about.

46. I was the one that said it.

I felt like we were trying to tell him what to do about his foot. Being too nosey! I took the foot as none of our business like choosing his underwear is none of our business because it (the foot) affects nothing. Like we were interfering in his personal medical choices. Because it was not life threatening or job threatening that it was like telling a woman what to do with her body.

It is our job and right to tell him what to do (you were correct there) when and only if it has ANY repercussions on our national security but this does not.

You jumped on my post with all your concern about Biden's underwear and feet. I you meant to respond to the OP then you should have responded to the OP. If you erred in where you placed your post (which I have done in the past) you should apologize (which I have done in the past).

Instead, you doubled down for repeat concerns about Biden's foot. That has nothing to do with my post or my concern about his actions.

48. Let's start from the beginning.

I said this to the op (VERYWELLHEALTH)

"ffs"
"How the hell did he live so long without so many people telling him what he "needs" to do. STFU and find something important to worry about. (Not you but the author.)"

You said this
"So.....we shouldn't tell our president what we want him or her to do?" and "I thought that was our job. And our right."

Then I said this
"Tell him when to eat and when to change his underwear while you are at it."

You said
"Where did you dig that up? If you have nothing to say" and "just don't say anything.

Or can you show me where someone, other than you, talked about the president's underwear.
You can't be so inside yourself that you don't see the political concerns raised by the OP. Can you?"

Then I said
"His foot is NOT going to stop him from doing what he knows best." and There is being protective and then there is being
OVER protective. If he were ill then I would have concern over his health, well being and the situation our country would be in. But it is his foot. His brain is not in his foot. It's at the opposite end of where his foot is. His foot and his ability to

You replied

"WTF? What thread are you reading? Sheez is right." and
Where did I say that he was going to do the wrong thing because his foot told him too. Project much?

I get to tell my president whatever I want to tell him. You don't get to tell me that I shouldn't. Find something important

So I asked

"Please explain to me what would happen if he reinjures his foot." and How will it affect his job? How will it affect the
country? How will it affect the bills he is trying to put through? How will it affect Covid? Our troops overseas? Would there
be any residual effects from it? Housing? The hundreds of other things he is tending to?"

You didn't answer but replied with

Now it is all in one spot. I hope that helps you follow the conversation. It started with me talking to the op and you popped in and apparently couldn't follow the discussion.

I saw several times in there that you made it personal and I will disregard that.

One more thing before I go..... IF HIS FOOT DOES NOT IMPARE HIS JOB AND IT IS NONE OF OUR BUSINESS. He is a full grown man capable of making his decisions about his body.

I am also done with this conversation. If you want to fight with someone, go fight with someone else.

Edit: This conversation started when you responded to my post that was directed to nobody but the article. It is between me and you only.

49. Obsess much?

You just copied entire subthread that proves you have no idea what you said.

You said that we should shut up and stop telling the president what to do. Something along the lines of how did he get along before.

I said we get to tel the president what to do.

Then you began the hole. You dug it deeper and deeper trying not to admit you said what you said. Mostly you ignored my posts to make up shit to gripe at my posts about.

Tell me again how we shouldn't have the right to tell the president what we think he should do. Don't keep going on about his underwear and his foot. I didn't talk about the foot. It is a right-wing type of trick to bring up stuff that has nothing to do with the discussion to argue about something else because you really have no basis in fact or standing in logic to continue with the diatribe you have begun. Are you so insular that you can't see what you have done in this subthread? Can you not see the way you argue a point that has not been raised?

Summary: You said we shouldn't tell the president what to do. I said we should get to tell the president what to do. Then you began obsessing about his foot and underwear. What is wrong with you?

5. I've got to agree that it takes a long time for a foot fracture to heal

I broke my toe the first week of November. I've had plenty of broken toes, never treated them and they healed fine without a lot of pain. Not this one.

In January, I was concerned about how much pain I still had and went to the orthopedist. The X-ray shows a splintered bone in the next to the last toe. They said, "Yeah, you broke that toe but there is nothing we can do about it. It's healing but may hurt for 3-4 more months." Great. So it still hurts and I can't walk any distance.

I've gained a lot of weight since breaking it since I can't exercise. I want to do my own gardening but I can't walk, can't dig holes, can't squat down to plant stuff. I'd planned to work off some of the weight by weeding and planting. Not going to happen.

Since there has been no improvement, I've decided that if it still hurts by my birthday in July, I will go back to the orthopedist and see if they can do anything about it.

I sustained a Biden-like fracture jumping over the side of a deuce-and-a-half overseas in 1968. X-rays were negative, but the doc prescribed me some Darvon (hoo-hah!). Still gives me twinges every now & then.

Hope your situation has a happy resolution.

I stubbed it so hard, I wrenched the entire outer quarter of the foot. It all turned black and purple and still has some internal bleeding, apparently, since the base of the toe still looks bruised.

My plan at this point is to do as much walking as I can tolerate. That means pain killers at night so I can sleep and I hate taking pills. I'm thinking of trying alternative, but I'm not sure they would help much.

It has been apparent the fracture isnít fully healed as his limping has become more pronounced.

32. If you had googled limp and Biden, you'd find it mentioned in December

by real news media, and they discuss everything Biden.

Now, in January a blatantly conservative/RW "newspaper" did a hit piece claiming a limp, "Limping one minute, jogging the next: Biden, 78, shows both his age and vitality in one day." Turns out to be their coverage of Biden's inauguration and his long walk down Pennsylvania Avenue with Mrs. Biden, and one guess what note they were hitting more. No mention in MSM coverage of a limp.

It's now 2 months later.

What I thought I might have seen in that walk to the plane are subtle signs of age in his gait, something about the way he carries himself, a lack of the athletic fluidity of younger years. But absolutely no limp that made me think he was walking around on unmended fractures. That would be dumb of him, and he and his physicians aren't stupid.

for cameras that weren't there and gotten ourselves in more trouble is all. My husband's just as vigorous, kayaking at 80, but he doesn't have to put on a show and has gotten very careful about his footing when pulling it over rocky shallows.
