They don't want to participate in our cooperative, democratic form of government any more. They want out of democracy, they want a dictatorship where only one party - their own party - has any real power. And the reasons and underlying circumstances for this are legion. The bottom line is that a functioning democracy requires at least two political parties willing to participate in the process of governing.
