Local Miami CBS spring break video this morning... all black people.

I live close by so this was local Miami news. The crowd scenes that they showed did not have one white person. All people interviewed were black and older than what I would think are students.

I’m confused. Are there honestly no people of other races involved in this, or is the reporting one sided on purpose?
And from what I observed, there was dancing and partying and laughter... not anything remotely resembling what happened at the Capitol on January 6. Yet the town was was closed down very quickly.

to go to Ft. Lauderdale. This is a huge generality, of course.

10. I see plenty of both races. Throwing money seems an exceptionally stupid thing to do in a crowd.

And in a pandemic? People are amazing.

5. Miami Beach city leaders have been trying to ban Urban Beach Week for years.

Urban Beach Week is a hip-hop music festival held over Memorial Day weekend, attracting a largely black crowd. Miami Beach officials and business owners have called it an "out-of-control series of parties that increase crime on the beach." Local TV stations always play up the crime angle, showing young partygoers fighting with the cops.

After shootings in 2017, then-Miami Beach Commissioner Kirsten Rosen Gonzalez sent an email to Miami Beach Police Chief Daniel Oates demanding he "give the police back their bullets and take away their body cams." Gonzalez was forced to apologize, but the sentiments she expressed are pervasive in Miami-Dade county. Local businesses like the money these visitors bring, but they'd rather it be a white crowd.

as part of piece on food need during the pandemic. The place was supposedly slammed and they picked them to film? I thought that was an intentional asshole move and not helpful.

I noticed that with the BLM protests. I called out The Associated Press when, it seemed, all of their pictures were of Black people protesting in MN. I know for fact, the vast majority of BLM protestors in MN were "white". The newspapers hate when white and black people protest together peacefully.....or party together peacefully.

the assholes did, whether black or white or pink or purple. Anyone who destroys someone else’s property is a criminal. But showing a video on a morning news show is irresponsible if it only targets one group of people involved.

or not, but it seems to me the cameras were filming what they considered a newsworthy moment. I’ve seen plenty of vids of white kids partying, really not hard to find.
