Some hope #MerrickGarland will “be a legal romantic who truly believes law is a distinct space, with its own methodology and responsibility, and must be divorced from political considerations.” I’ve known Garland well for 46 years. Its a well founded hope.

Your cynicism is rather stark.

To provide some optimism and a positive perspective, I suggest you read the linked New Yorker article. It illustrates Mr. Garland's views very effectively and I think it will give you some hope for a better Department of Justice.

We all want Trump and his cronies to be held to account. As Glenn Kirschner says, Justice matters. It just takes time.
