Sherwin was given the D.C. U.S. Attorney's job by Bill Barr to protect Trump and Michael Flynn...which he was only too happy to do.
Biden had him axed from that position, but kept him on the Capitol Riot cases just long enough for continuity's sake. He's out making money on the media interview circuit now.
