How serious is the Border issue ?

The problem is more for the people attempting to come here but the right wing makes it seem like the problem is that it's a threat to Americans (they mean just white people though).

The idiot Chuck Todd just pushes right wing racist talking points with the fear mongering. Same goes for others in the infotainment industry. Why don't these fools do some serious reporting on why people put up with all the shit to try to come here without a gaurantee they would even be allowec to stay. The fear , risks, threats etc are what those coming here face. They aren't a threat to us. Scumbags with guns here are the threat to us.

Asian people and other women and minorities face real problems in this country but the media pushes bs. They do this all the time like with the caravans.

As I said, the border issue is a serious issue but not becsuse it's any threat to us.

Neither are on list of things that keep me up at night.

ETA: I feel for the families who risk everything to come here! I just don't see them as a threat.

Biden's political control, or insufficient political control, of the issue, may key the 2022 Election.

A significant influx of immigration is not something welcomed by the majority of voters it seems.

The broadcast networks also have it high on their headline lists. The mess in Florida/Miami has gotten top billing, along with vaccination news, but it's right behind them.

The people arriving at the border desperate for asylum aren't dangerous to America. I'm more scared of domestic terrorists with guns like the seditionists who invaded our capital on January 6th.

The Republicans and Fox News are once again playing the real news outlets like a fiddle. They're not concerned, they're delighted that the surge at the border has blocked out news reports about the insurrection and the success of the American Rescue plan.

In following the news on MSNBC it's clear the Biden administration knows what Republicans are up to and are trying really hard to keep the border situation under control. There's no solving this problem without first passing Biden's immigration legislation but we know Republicans aren't interested in working with Democrats on that.

Democrats are going to have a tough time in the mid-terms regardless of what's happening at our border. With right wing media bashing everything Biden does along with gerrymandering and voter suppression its going to take another huge voter outreach effort for us to hold onto Congress. Every election now is like going to war against the Republicans anti-democratic schemes.

because they have nothing else. Suddenly, the Republicans I know see this shit on Fox and comment on it to me. Mostly the big influx is kids without parents and Biden will not turn children away. They are turning adults away because of the pandemic. They need more staff to get these kids to their relatives faster.

My employer requires anyone exposed to the virus or flying in a plane, to quarantine for 10 days without pay before returning to work.

Concerned that anyone able to cross the Southern border is either not caught at all, or put in close proximity with hundreds of others.

As usual, wingnuts go for the superficial. They attack based on *instant* results. Crises happen when problems have been ignored, kicked down the road for preceding long periods.

convinced a lot of people we were being invaded. Those caravans. I am 72 and have been hearing about Mexicans crossing the border all my life. Seems like nothing ever changes.
